Going over budget is easy...so michigan community credit union makes overdraft protection even easier.
Have you ever had a situation where you are making a purchase with your debit card and suddenly realize that the check you meant to deposit a few days earlier is still sitting in your wallet? You worry and wonder whether that purchase will go through...Michigan Community Credit Union can help ease your mind. An overdraft occurs when you do not have enough money in your account to cover a transaction, but for your convenience, Michigan Community Credit Union pays the transaction anyway. We can cover your overdrafts in two different ways:
- Standard overdraft practices (Courtesy Pay) that come with your account, as outlined below.
- Linking your Checking Account to another account (such as your Savings) with an automatic transfer of funds if you overdraft. A transfer fee applies (see rate and fee schedule for current pricing). To learn more, ask us about this service.
At Michigan Community Credit Union, we provide Courtesy Pay to cover transactions that may cause your Checking Account to become overdrawn...saving you from potentially embarrassing situations and the extra hassles in your already busy life.
How Courtesy Pay Works - Rather than automatically returning your unpaid overdraft items or being declined when trying to make a purchase, Michigan Community Credit Union will authorize and pay your reasonable overdrafts, as long as you maintain your account in good standing.
Standard Overdraft Practices - We do authorize and pay overdrafts for checks, automatic bill payments and other electronic transactions (including ACH) made using your Checking Account number. We do not authorize and pay overdrafts on ATM or everyday debit card transactions, unless you give us consent by opting in.
What Courtesy Pay Costs - There are no monthly maintenance fees! There are no set-up charges! You only pay if, and when, you actually use the service. A $30 Courtesy Pay fee* applies each time we pay an overdraft. Having Courtesy Pay does not guarantee that Michigan Community Credit Union will pay your overdrafts. If we decide to pay an overdraft, you will be charged a fee as described above. However, if we do not authorize and pay an overdraft, your transaction will be declined.
I want Michigan Community Credit Union to authorize and pay overdrafts on my ATM and everyday debit card transactions.
*$30.00 standard Courtesy Pay fee applies for each non-sufficient fund item paid and created by check writing, ATM withdrawals, Debit Card transactions or other electronic means including ACH transactions. The amount of any overdraft(s), plus courtesy pay fee(s) are due and payable upon notification from Michigan Community Credit Union, and must be paid in full within 30 days. Michigan Community Credit Union’s Courtesy Pay service is non-contractual and discretionary. We reserve the right to solely approve Courtesy Pay for member accounts in good standing and may limit the number of eligible accounts to one per household. Michigan Community Credit Union has the right to cancel Courtesy Pay anytime and without notice. Michigan Community Credit Union provides Savings overdraft protection as an alternative form of overdraft protection.
